Buku Pink Opening & Management
- Advisable time to start Buku Pink : 8 – 14 weeks
Step 1 : Confirming Pregnancy
Self detection of pregnancy at home using pregnancy kit or at Klinik Nur Medicare.
Once pregnancy confirmed, book appointment with Klinik Nur Medicare during 6 to 14 weeks of pregnancy.
Failure to register early might be marked as ‘late booking’
Step 2 : Buku Pink Registration
Kindly bring the document for registration:
- Mother’s IC, father’s IC and wedding certification
- Utility document (electric bill / water bill)
- Reference letter from doctor if any
After registration, Buku Pink will be given. The Buku Pink need to be brought everywhere including every time mother come for pregnancy checkup
Step 3 : Baseline Pregnancy Checkup
During first checkup, the doctor will get the health record including:
- Weight & height
- Blood pressure
- Urine test
- Blood test
- Belly examination
- Pregnancy history
- Family medical history
This will be a reference for the next doctor & hospitals
Step 4 : Follow The Trimester Checkup Schedule
Klinik Nur Medicare offers complete pregnancy checkup plan including 3 trimester including ultrasound scan which is not offered by KKIA.
Additional medical service also offered which can be chosen such as vaccination
Buku Pink Visit Frequency
- 6 – 28 weeks – once a month
- 28 – 35 weeks – once every 2 weeks
- 36 weeks & above – every week
- This is a standard guideline provided there is no abnormality on mother & baby’s health condition

- Ultrasound baby scan (Nuchal translucency, screening for fetal anomaly, 3D/4D/5D)
- Additional vaccination (Influenza & Tdap)
Buku Pink Color Code
- WHITE
- No Risk
- Can proceed to give birth at any private & government hospitals including district hospital
- GREEN
- Risky
- Need doctor’s observation but still can give birth at any hospital including district hospitals. The issue usually involves primid issue, 80kg weight, vacuum, asthma, tore delivery stage 3 etc
- YELLOW
- Risky
- Reference for O&G observation request, family specialist & treatment by medical officer & nurse. The issue usually involves diabetes with insulin, high blood pressure teenager, out of marital mother etc
- RED
- High Risk
- Urgent request for observation to the hospital & treatment by O&G, family specialist because of pregnancy complication
Jaundice
Type of Jaundice
- Physiological Jaundice: Most common type and is considered a normal response in newborns.
- Cause: Immature liver’s limited capacity to effectively process bilirubin, leading to its accumulation in the body.
- Within 2 to 4 days after birth and typically resolves within a few weeks.
- Breastfeeding Jaundice: Inadequate milk intake during the initial days of breastfeeding.
- Cause: Insufficient feeding leading to higher bilirubin levels
- Temporary and improves with proper feeding.
- Breast Milk Jaundice: Breakdown of bilirubin, leading to elevated levels.
- After the first week of life and can persist for several weeks.
- Relatively rare, it usually resolves on its own.
Jaundice Treatment Process
- Consultation: Medical history review & assessing symtomps & severity
- Bilirubin Level Measurement: Understanding the extent of jaundice & guides doctor’s decision
- Medical Assessment: Baby’s condition, phototherapy or other treatments
- Phototherapy Treatment: Mild to moderate case, phototheraphy will be offered breaking down excess bilirubin in the skin facilitating its elimination from the body
